A ‘remedy’ is an outcome or result in the form of an award by an arbitrator or order of court by a judge which grants the successful party a resolution to the dispute before the arbitrator or judge as prescribed by the Labour Relations Act. The remedies discussed here arise where an employee has been held by an arbitrator (or the Labour Court) to have been unfairly dismissed.
